2020 Chevy Corvette C8 Debuts Today: Watch The Unveiling Live Here:  Click Here

Live coverage begins at 7:50 p.m. PDT and show begins at 8 p.m. PDT.

On Thursday, July 18, Chevrolet will debut the long-awaited, eighth-generation, midengine Corvette. We’ll be attending a media event to see the new ‘Vette in Southern California, and Chevy will broadcast the big unveiling live on the internet, so you can follow along with us.

The livestream will be shared on a special GM website (no login required), and starts at 7:30 p.m. PT. Chevy will also distribute the livestream through its various social media outlets.

“There is a large contingent of Corvette fans across the world waiting for the reveal of the Next Generation,” Barry Engle, executive VP and president for GM in the Americas, said in a statement earlier this month. “We’re happy to give these fans, and all sports car enthusiasts, a way to see and learn about the vehicle at the same time as those participating live in California.”

The debut event will not be open to public attendance, but GM is planning to take the new Corvette on a tour of Chevy dealers across the US. Specific dates and locations are expected to be announced soon.

Like the rest of the world, we’re pretty stoked to see what Chevy has in store for the midengine C8 Corvette. Stay tuned for the full array of photos and information on Thursday, and in the meantime, check out our historical look back at the Corvette’s last seven generations.1

C8 Mid-Engine Corvette Reveal!

Following the reveal, the Next Generation Chevrolet Corvette will embark on two nationwide dealership tours

The late Zora Arkus-Duntov, the father of the Chevrolet Corvette, had a vision for a mid-engine Corvette. That vision will come to life the evening of July 18, 2019, in Orange County, California, and the world can watch the reveal via livestream from the comfort of their own homes.

The livestream opens at 7:30 p.m. PDT/10:30 p.m. EDT on July 18 and can be accessed through media.chevrolet.com/nextgenCorvette, which also will be sent out on Chevrolet’s social media channels. The stream will include Corvette video footage, a hosted preshow and the reveal presentation. It will be available for viewing across the globe, in all seven continents.

“There is a large contingent of Corvette fans across the world waiting for the reveal of the Next Generation. We’re happy to give these fans, and all sports car enthusiasts, a way to see and learn about the vehicle at the same time as those participating live in California,” said Barry Engle, executive vice president and president, the Americas, GM. “Viewers will hear directly from Chevrolet leadership, engineering and some special guests about the highlights and background of this first mid-engine Corvette.”

Following the reveal, the Next Generation Corvette will hit the road for two national dealership tours that will include vehicle specialists and numerous interactive displays. At these events, Chevy dealers will host customers to showcase the new mid-engine supercar, display customizable parts (seats, wheels, accessories, etc.) and teach people how they can personalize their own Corvette.

“With all the excitement around this vehicle, we don’t want people to have to wait to experience it in person,” said Engle. “Our national tours will bring the Next Generation car right to our customers’ local Chevrolet dealership, where they can start imagining themselves in their very own personalized mid-engine Corvette.”

The tours will begin on the East and West Coasts and stop at more than 125 select dealerships across the U.S. starting after the reveal and extending through early 2020. Tour dates and cities will be available starting on July 19.

C7 Generation coming to an end!

The end of the 7th generation Corvette is coming fast and now we have some actual dates that you should be aware of.

We knew that by watching the dealers, we would get a sense of when actual C7 Corvette production would come to a close and it looks like the countdown clock to the end of the C7s has already started.

First up, the last order cycle for the 2019 ZR1 closed at the end of May which means that the end date to custom order the 755-hp Corvette has already passed. There might be a few built cars still out there from deals that fell through, but it looks like ZR1 production is nearly wrapped up.

Today (June 6th) starts the final order cycle to build a C7 Convertible with a Sold order required to be in GM’s order bank by Monday evening (6/10).

The last day for any Sold order C7 Coupes is Monday, June 17th. Again, buyers need to have a Sold order in the order bank that Monday evening for any chance to be picked up by GM.

The final day for any C7 order is Tuesday, June 23rd. However, there is no guarantee that dealers will have allocations on that day. Regardless, it’s the final day for any C7 order.

Keep in mind that these are for placing sold customer orders for 2019 Corvettes. Dealer inventories for the 2019 Corvette are still plentiful and so if you can’t order the car of your dreams, there’s a good chance that most of your wishlist can be fulfilled with a car that has already been built.

We are still waiting on final confirmation on when the C7 Corvette production will officially end and that should become clearer in the next few weeks.

The Corvette is one of the great muscle cars. Sleek and sexy, it’s something that car aficionados dream about, whether they’re young or old. With super-fast zero to sixty times and a great look, just about every knows the Chevrolet Corvette when they see one. If you own one or are planning to own one, be sure you understand the maintenance and upkeep issues that you’ll be facing. Once your warranty has run out, or if you want to make some modifications or upgrades – a spoiler or bigger exhaust, perhaps – the parts that you’ll need for your Corvette can be costly. Getting the right parts and making sure that you purchase quality, though, is well worth the price. It keeps your car looking new, running great, and turning heads wherever you go.

2018 Altoona Corvette Club Car Show at DelGrosso’s

It was Sunny and Hot, but at least it didn’t rain for the Annual ACC Car Show at DelGrosso’s Amusement Park, Tipton, PA on Sunday August 5th.

As always, there where well over a 100 cars and trucks of all types and years.  Thanks Randy Johnson (President – ACC) for being such a great host and making us (CCWP) feel welcome.  Thanks DelGross’s for being such a great sponsor and especially for the gift of sample sauces….

Once again, CCWP came in “force” and represented the club with a total of (20) cars!…  Way to go CCWP!

Our Club took away (4) Trophies, which is one more than last year!..  Congrats all those you won and the hard work you put in to prepare your car for judging in the heat.

(18) members met at Sheetz in Blairsville and caravanned together, which was awesome to see us all on the road together!

Here’s a few pics on the club parked together at the show….

A few pics of the other cars in the show!

Of course it wouldn’t be a complete CCWP car cruise without eating some “FOOD”!….  The Dream restaurant as always didn’t disappoint….  Great food!

2018 Tom Henry – All Chevy Car Show

This past Saturday, July 14, 2018 was Tom Henry’s All Chevy Car show and CCWP was there in force with nearly 20 of the 35 Corvettes present.  There were from my unofficial count nearly 100 cars overall attending.

Tom Henry was a very gracious host with allowing us to spend time in the dealership showroom get out of the heat and use the facilities. They also provided “FREE” tacos to everyone attending and water, soda too!..  There where two food trucks and plenty of good fun and conversations with other car owners including a well represented group from North Pittsburgh Corvette Club.  It was a pleasure to meet Paul Schulze and compare ideas on how we could do combine events in the future!

Kate “Henry” Durbin and Sue Henry brought their personal Corvettes and was thrilled to park them among ours!

Kate had these kind words to share along with a few pictures:  “Thank you so much for letting me (Kate) park with you guys- I had so much fun seeing my Corvette in the lineup! Thank you also for everything you (CCWP) did to help the day go smoothly. CCWP is easily the most courteous group of guests, and we love having you here. I’d be happy to put together a special event here for you guys if you wanted to do something again.”… Kate Durbin, Business Development Manager, Tom Henry Chevrolet
