2018 Annual Grand National Meet

CCWP volunteers to support the “once in a life-time” annual Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) Grand National Meet being held for the first time in Greensburg Pennsylvania.  What an experience to see nearly 530 pristine antique vehicles of all type, model and manufacture in one place!

Each of these vehicles must have a 390 out of 400 racking to even be considered and invited to this yearly event.  They come from “all” across the US and most where trailered in and rarely driven for any extended distance.

A full report with pictures and video’s can be found here:  Western PA Region – Grand National Meet

Here’s some pictures I took to capture mind and other participating CCWP members experience!

Each attendee received this unique plaque

Below are pictures of the various “lots” and cars as they arrived and we (CCWP Members) helped park in there assigned slot!

Here are “Candid” pictures of CCWP members attending with some “Tongue-n-Cheek” Captions I hope you will enjoy and appreciate!

Need to “Respect” the power of the 2019 ZR1!

GM exec crashes 2019 Corvette ZR1 pace car, delaying Detroit Grand Prix

“The first car knocked out of Sunday’s leg of the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix was not an IndyCar. It was a 2019 Corvette ZR1 pace car driven by General Motors product chief Mark Reuss. Reuss had just begun the parade lap, leading the IndyCar field, when he lost control of the car and it hit hard into the wall. The crash took out a good chunk of the front end. Reuss and a passenger both got out of the car, apparently unhurt.” says Autoweek

I guess this was a “teaching moment” that you need to respect the power of the new 2019 ZR1 and should hit the gas pedal unless you can handle the response!  There goes his “Bonus” for this year!

Sunday Lunch before it Rains @ Falorio’s

Dodging the rain drops and making the best of a Sunday at my son’s restaurant (Falorio’s) for lunch.

Good food and conversation and DQ ice cream to finish the drive….

Thanks everyone for cruising over to our neck of the woods in Glassport, PA and having some good old Italian dishes made by my son’s inspired old world cooking from my wife’s side of the family.

Here’s a few pics and hope we all can do this again somewhere else with more CCWP members with a impromptu “get-out-and-enjoy” those wonderful American machines we own!

Youngwood Memorial Day Parade

CCWP came out to support one of our members (Joe & MJ Theis) and his local Youngwood, PA Annual Memorial Day parade.. This years celebration with his mom being honored with “New Stanton Citizen of the year”.  Alice Theis is 97 years young and doesn’t look a day older than 79 in my opinion.  Congratulations Alice and may you enjoy many-many more such days yet to come!

CCWP members attending included:  Frank & Debbie Paolo, Brad Paolo, Sue & Bob Marnell, Sam & Nancy Demonte, Vince Morich and his wife, myself (Regis Kuzel) and of course Joe & MJ Theis. We all went to breakfast at Bob Evan’s afterwards in Greensburg..

UCCC – 2018 Go Hard or Go Home Shoot Out Points Meet

Some of us in the CCWP club experienced a different type of show that was a lot of fun and resulted in (3) CCWP members being awarded TOP 30 trophies!..  There where over 80 cars of all make and model participating, with cars trailered and also coming from out-of-state as far as Florida!…

UCCC – 2018 Go Hard or Go Home Shoot Out Points Meet – Ramada Greensburg Hotel and Conference Center

CCWP Club winners!  Judging was very rigid with a detailed “points” system.  Four judges rated each car for “Exterior”, “Interior”, “Appearance” and “Engine Bay”.  This speaks volumes to our members that attended how they detailed and prepared their beloved cars for this type of show…

Shown below are (4) of the five CCWP cars there.. Joe & MJ Theis’s car was just out of view behind Sam’s car.. Sorry Joe and MJ!

Other pics of the beautiful cars!

United Rays Corvette Club Inaugural Spring Show

In the spirit of our CCWP vision and mission.. “…promote and improve fellowship among Corvette owners and enthusiasts“, several club members participated in the United Rays Corvette Club’s 1st annual spring show on Sunday, May 20, 2018. There was a good turn out of all types of cars numbering roughly 30+.

It was a lively event with awesome music and the best Icee.  United Rays was a gracious host and honored us (CCWP) with two trophies.

The Best-of-Show was awarded to a one-of-kind C6 Z06 owned by Bob and Candie Overly, which was also featured at the Grabiak Spring Show.

Here’s a few additional pics showing the cars and proceedings!
