DESCRIPTION:The Bowtie Nationals featuring the GM Invasion will occur at the Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park\, 1300 State Route 18\, Norwalk\, Ohio. Scheduled for June 6th and 7th\, 2025\, this event will spotlight Chevrolet\, Buick\, Oldsmobile\, Pontiac\, Cadillac\, and GMC vehicles. Attendees can experience drag racing\, a car and truck show\, a swap meet\, and a vendor midway. This event offers an opportunity for automotive enthusiasts to encoun- ter the performance of GM vehicles. \nWe will drive out route 30 on Thursday June 5th to see the show on Friday June 6th. Driving out route 30 will be 4 hours. I need to know how many will go so I can get a motel. One day will keep the costs down. Everyone would be on their own to leave whenever they want to drive home. If taking the turnpike home it would be 3 hours depending where you live. SUMMARY:Air Force Museum Trip
DESCRIPTION:Rick Conwell is in the early planning stages for a trip to the Air Force Museum in Dayton Ohio in June. He passed around a sheet at the March meeting to see who was interest and so far there are 8 cars and 14 members that signed up for the trip. The dates are June 19th to the 21st.\nThe plan so far is to leave from Cranberry early in the morning of the 19th and have lunch somewhere around Springfield\, Ohio around noon. You would then continue on and make a stop at Mershon’s World of Cars around 2:30 pm and tour the facility and check out their cars. After that stop you would then continue on and check into the hotel\, which will be near the USAF Museum. Friday the group would then go over to the Museum for a VIP. After the tour the group will return to the hotel to freshen up and then head out to dinner. The group will return to the hotel after dinner and probably head home on the 21st. \nMore details will be available as the trip gets closer.

SUMMARY:Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix
DESCRIPTION:The 2025 Vintage Grand Prix is scheduled for July 11-25. There are a number of events scheduled during that period\, and you can find a schedule and more information at their website\, pvgp.org. Registration is now open. Lotus is the Marque of the Year\, Mazda Miata is the Spotlight Car. Vintage Indy returns to Schenley and there are some new racing circuits there. The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix is the nation’s largest vintage street race\, with 10 days of racing\, car shows\, parties\, parades and motorsport events. Because of the closure of the Panther Hollow Bridge\, two new track events were designed so vintage racing on city streets could continue.

SUMMARY:Back of the Dragon Trip
DESCRIPTION:The Cassels will be leading another trip\, this one to Virginia to ride the Back of the Dragon. The dates are August 13-15\, 2025\, which is a Wednesday to Friday. This is a 32 mile drive with 438 curves. Sounds like the perfect Corvette course. They will be staying at the Comfort Inn in Bluefield\, Virginia. The group will als visit some museums and the Beckey Exhibition Coal Mine. Twelve cars have signed up for the ride. Rooms at the Comfort Inn are no longer blocked off but if you are interested\, contact Deb Cassel at 412-932-7326. Should be a fun trip so think about joining them and test your Vette on the curves.

DESCRIPTION:Larry Courtney\, a Corvette enthusiast from Michigan\, is holding an event that entails making a flag with red\, white\nand blue Corvettes on Flag Day on Belle Isle to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States. He plans on\nmaking the biggest Corvette Flag ever\, consisting of over 400 cars\, the weekend of June 13-14\, 2026. Larry has\nenough cars signed up to make the flag\, but there will be other activities that weekend that anyone can attend\, If\nyou are interested in attending this event email Larry at MichiganCorvetteEvents@gmail.com as soon as possible..\nThere will be two separate ways to sign up for this event. One is for those in the flag and the other will be for those\njust attending the event. The Cassel’s will be entering their white Corvette. Cost of the event is $30 per car\, and\nthe proceeds will be donated to selected veterans charities.\nHotel information is Residence Inn by Marriott Detroit Pontiac/Auburn Hills at 3333 Centerpoint Parkway\, Pontiac\,\nMi 48341. You can call 248-858-8664 to make reservations under booking code “Corvette Flag Day.” Cost is\n$129/night for a studio. The rooms under this code have already all been booked as of this writing. However\,\nwhen you call you can ask for that code and see if you can still book a room at the same rate.\nLarry is setting up some tours/events to do on Saturday and the actual flag set up will be on Sunday on Belle Isle.\nIf interested in going contact Deb Cassel at 412-932-7326. At the time this article was submitted there were three\ncars committed to the event and some others were considering attending.\nThis event was first presented at the March membership meeting if you happened to be there.
